Both of the boys love video gaming, and it’s turning out that the XBox is one of their most favorite consoles that has their most favorite games. Justin spent some of his own money today and picked up Up the video game for Nintendo DS.

He said the reason he chose it is because on the back it says you can “compete in aerial dog flight combat.” That is where the dogs are flying planes and in Justin’s words..”everyone is shooting at each other.”

Once again, the game that has shooting wins. Justin says if you get Up for Nintendo Wii you can have up to 4 people competing the the dog flight combat.

The boys’ friend came over yesterday and he has the new Nintendo DSi. It was a big hit.

One of the main cool new features is a camera. You can take a photo of someone and then embellish it with things like hearts or googly eyes right there on your DSi. The guys had a lot of fun with this.

This DS allows you to connect to the internet. You can browse, share photos or play. You can also download games and other things through the Nintendo DSi shop. This is a very cool new toy that could end up being what everyone wants for Christmas this year.

Rayman Raving Rabbids for Wii

My kids just had a chance to play Rayman Raving Rabbids at a friend’s house today. They loved it! Seriously loved it.

It’s wacky and funny and very different. My youngest said our friend had “the rarest games.” This is high praise indeed.

Mario Kart DS

Mario Kart for Nintendo DS is the latest game my son HAS to have.

Tyler says,”It’s kind of like racing a car, except it’s with Mario. And you’re able to shoot stuff like red shells, drop bananas, throw bombs and shoot blue shells with wings that blow up the person in first place. You can also do wireless DS connection and play with your friends–and they don’t have to have the game either.”

That’s the glowing review from my 10 year old.

Action Replay Max for Nintendo DS

Tyler’s friend has the Action Replay for DS. Apparently you can download codes that will help you in various Nintendo DS games. In particular, you can use them to get farther along in Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl.

Tyler and his buddy were using them to get his power up really high on his Pokemon (kids will know what that means) and to go places in the game they hadn’t gotten to before.

This was a very exciting gadget and one I’d recommend. It makes the games that much more fun for the kids to play.

Star Wars: The Force Unleased for Wii

Tyler played this game at a friend’s house and immediately had to have it. He had such a great time with it.

You can use electricity, the force, light sabers, etc. You can attack, block attacks and more. My guys love it and so do the neighbors’ kids who’ve been over trying it out, too.

I guess one of the best tests of a Wii game is when you find a whole group of kids gathered around excited about what’s going to happen next.
